Hardware is any physical part of the computer setup. This means the monitor, keyboard, mouse, CD-ROM drive, printer, etc. Software consists of the programmes that allow you to work on a computer. Operating systems, word processors, spreadsheets, games and database management systems are all examples of software. Information Technology (IT) is an all-embracing term referring to any means of storing, processing or transferring information which can be classed as modern technology. Commonly abbreviated to IT the term more recently been upgraded to ITC, to include the word (and) communication. The term can be applied not only to anything concerning computers, but also facsimile transmission, telephone, multi-media presentation formerly known as audio visual material, etc.
