This can be accessed by dialing *#06# (star, hash, zero, six, hash). 10% of total crime in the UK involves the theft of a mobile phone. Mobile phones are valuable items - make sure no one takes yours.

• Be aware of what's happening around you as a mobile phone is very attractive to a thief.
  
  
• Avoid texting or talking on your mobile in crowded areas where it can be easily snatched from you.
  
  
• Keep it with you at all times and do not leave it unattended.
  
  

• Ensure you record your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number (dial *#06# to access), phone number, service provider, fascia details and PIN number.
  
  
• Try and get your mobile phone security marked. Merseyside Police have various events across the county where you can get your phone marked or contact your local station for details.
