Making a Phone Call

The first advice should be to remember to register your phone with the network provider and keep a note of the IMEI number. This is the phones serial number and is used to bar your phone across all networks. This can be accessed by dialing *#06# (star, hash, zero, six, hash). 10% of total crime in the UK involves the theft of a mobile phone. Mobile phones are valuable items - make sure no one takes yours.

Be Aware

  • Be aware of what's happening around you as a mobile phone is very attractive to a thief.

  • Avoid texting or talking on your mobile in crowded areas where it can be easily snatched from you.

  • Keep it with you at all times and do not leave it unattended.

Protect Your Phone

  • Ensure you record your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number (dial *#06# to access), phone number, service provider, fascia details and PIN number.

  • Try and get your mobile phone security marked. Merseyside Police have various events across the county where you can get your phone marked or contact your local station for details.

If Your Phone is Stolen

If unfortunately your mobile phone is lost or stolen call 08701 123 123 or go to www.immobilise.com to access the numbers relevant to getting your phone barred across all networks, or contact the police so that we can bar your phone across all networks. This will make your mobile worthless to thieves and help in our fight against the trade in stolen phones.
